I realized it has been almost 3 months since I did a Sit Down With Scarlett post, so I figured it is time to do a little summer recap and just catch you up on what has been happening in my life recently!
I kicked my summer off by traveling to Nashville with one of my best friends! It was a lot of fun and we ate sooo much good food! See the full post here!
Then in June I started nannying for all 3 of the families I worked with this summer. It ended up being the perfect amount of work without making me feel overwhelmed, and I still had time to do fun things outside of work!
I also took a week off of social media in June, and it was a great decision! Since then I have been trying to spend less time on it in general and have taken random days off when I feel like I have been on it too much recently. Read all about my experience in this post!
Then in July I ended up posting a new blog post every day! It was so challenging to come up with 31 new post ideas, but it ended up helping me fall back in love with blogging. Much of July was spent blogging, but I also went to California for the first time at the beginning of the month.
I did two whole posts recapping my trip to California and sharing all the pictures I took, so click here to see Seaworld and Beach pictures and this post to see Zoo pictures!
In July I also went back to a hot air balloon show near where I live. It is always so fun to see the balloons up close and I love taking pictures, so click here to see the full recap!
Then in August I finished up nannying for all 3 families and said goodbye to all of my high school friends as they headed back to school. I love that Michigan schools don’t start until after labor day, but it is always a bummer to not have my friends around for the last 2 or 3 weeks of summer! I had plenty to work on before heading back to school though between prescheduling lots of blog posts for the fall and buying stuff I need for school and for my room. I am so excited to have my own room this year, and I will share a room tour sometime soon once I have everything put together.
I also ended up reading 33 books this summer, which is quite a few considering everything else that went on! Click through to see what I read in May, June, July, and August!
Then last week was my first week of grad school! Right now it is still a lot of orientation stuff and I don’t start with my clients until next week, but it has been good so far. I found out I have 2 pediatric clients and 2 adult clients, so I am excited for a good variety and to meet them all soon! This week we get access to our clients’ files and will have to start coming up with assessment plans, so I know things are about to get crazy. But I am ready!
I guess that about covers everything! I am so excited for fall in general, but also I am excited for this fall and to learn more throughout grad school. I know this first semester will be hard (so don’t hold it against me if I go MIA for a few weeks!) but I am excited that all my classes now are speech path classes and will actually be helpful. Wish me luck as I try to balance it all!
