During the school year, I don’t have much free time to read for fun. This means that whenever I get a break, I always spend a bit of time catching up on my to-read list. In today’s post I am sharing what books I got through over my Christmas Break!
Save Yourself is one that I had a tough time getting into and it took me a while to read it. I picked it up because I thought it might be similar to a Gillian Flynn book, but if that is what you are looking for, I would not recommend it.
Library of Souls was one that I did enjoy reading. It is the 3rd book in the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series, and I would definitely read the first two before reading this. I enjoy this series even though it is outside of what I would normally pick up. I usually enjoy books that are set in real places and don’t have made up places in it, but this series is an exception!
Brain on Fire was one that a friend recommended to me, and I am so glad she did! It is a true story where Susannah Cahalan describes how she crossed the line between sanity and insanity after an unknown pathogen invaded her body and caused an autoimmune reaction that jump-started brain inflammation, paranoia, and seizures.
Everything Leads To You was my favorite book that I read over break. In this book, Emi and her friend discover a letter at an estate sale that leads them to new people and a memorable summer.
The Art of Lainey is one that I also enjoyed reading. It is a pretty quick read about a girl who plots to get her ex back, but during the fight she realizes what she wants is not what she needs.
