I actually have not been reading Natalie’s blog for too long… I found it back in December. But I immediately knew it was one I would be adding to my favorite’s list in Bloglovin! I look forward to reading every post she publishes, and I am sure a lot of you will love her blog too!
1. When did you begin The PDX Prepster?
The PDX Prepster sort of came to be when I needed a creative
outlet at the beginning of my freshman year in college, the logo and
blog followed this need and the rest is recent history. I receive a lot
of questions as to what PDX means, PDX is a nickname for Portland,
Oregon (where I live).
Its literally the
acronym for our airport. When I was in high school the PDX airport
carpet received a lot of attention (look up #pdxcarpet) and people
started using the term “PDX” when referring to Portland. I liked the
ring of it and used it in my blog title. I have always joked that the
city of Portland is way too cool for me, so I’m probably super lame for
using the term PDX.
2. What is your favorite post you have written?
My semi-weekly “On My
List” posts are some of my favorites! I make lists for just about
everything. My apartment seriously looks like a post it note war zone!
So I love having a roundup list on my blog every so often of random
things that are on my list for that week.
3.
Do you have any tips for a new blogger?
New Blogger? Yikes, I still consider myself new! The best tips I can
give anyone wanting to start a blog are to be consistent, use original
content and photos, and post about what you honestly love (even if you
think no one will read it). Your blog should make YOU happy, other
people liking it is icing on the cake.
4. What is one goal you have for your blog in 2015?
To
connect more! One of the best parts of blogging is meeting other people
with a similar interest in fashion. I attended one media conference this
year and have a few scheduled for 2015! I’m so looking forward to it! I
also love whenever someone is headed to Portland and reaches out to
meet up! I seriously love meeting people face to face, you will rarely
find me saying no to a coffee date.
5. How would you describe your style?
Colorful, Classic and Ever Changing. I tend to put myself in the preppy
category due to my overwhelming love for monograms and classic brands.
But every once in awhile I will find something completely random that I
love and have no idea why.
6. What is your favorite brand?
My favorite
brand has to be Tory Burch. I’m in love with Torys’ entrepreneurial
story and how she devotes a ton of time to supporting other female
entrepreneurs! Its something to admire, not to mention everything is so
adorable and well made!
7. What is your favorite perfume?
I switch out a lot!
I’m going to NYC soon so I’ve switched to Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb!
Its a tradition that started when I was little, someone handed me a
paper fan of that fragrance at Saks 5th Avenue and I carried it around
the whole rest of the trip! The scent always reminds me of the city and I
always wear it when I’m there.
8. Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it?
I have a ton of favorites! (see here: http://goo.gl/kDJBJR)
If I absolutely had to choose my current favorite would be: “The secret to getting ahead is getting started”
9. If you could travel to anywhere during 2015, where would it be?
The south! I have done my fair share of west coast, east coast, and
international travel so I’m absolutely desperate to go down south! I
have this overwhelming feeling that I will fall in love and never want
to leave.
