{Trendy Talks} Antonia from Bashful and Bubbly

This week I am interviewing Antonia from Bashful and Bubbly. She actually emailed me about being featured, and I am so glad she did! I read through a few of her blog posts and immediately knew I loved her blog.

1. Why did you begin blogging?

I
began blogging last summer before my freshman year of college. I love
to write and to express my thoughts through writing. I am also really
into fashion, so I decided that a blog would be the perfect way to
combine my passion for writing and fashion, as well as to share my
experiences throughout my college journey!

2. Where does the name of your blog come from?

Bashful and Bubbly combines my two personality types, despite the fact that
they are quite contradictory! I’m quite introverted, so at times I draw
into myself and am very shy. At the same time, however, I am usually
bubbly and outgoing. I chose to name my blog based on my personality
because I knew it wanted it to be a reflective and personal journal.

3. What has been your favorite part about blogging?

For
sure, my favorite aspect of blogging has been connecting with people
and hearing that they enjoy my posts! For new bloggers like me, blogging
can be quite lonely when you’re writing post after post without much
feedback. I love to hear from people friends, family, and even strangers
that they enjoy my blog!

4. How would you describe your personal style?

My
personal style is classic, preppy, and practical. I enjoy wearing
classic pieces like a simple turtleneck, riding boots, quality denim,
etc. I’m not one to wear a lot of color, and you can tell that as soon
as you walk into my closet and see a row of black, grey, navy, and other
more neutral colors. In addition, I own many pieces that are versatile
and can be worn throughout all 4 seasons.

5. What is your favorite store to shop at?

By
far, my favorite store is J.Crew. Sure, that’s a little cliché, but I
love that I can find absolutely everything there, from shoes to
swimsuits to casual and formal items like a wedding dress!

6. Do you collect anything? If so, what and why?

At
the risk of sounding super materialistic I’m not going to say clothes
(although that would probably be the most realistic answer)! I don’t
collect anything material, but I guess I would say that I collect
feelings – is that weird? I’m prone to holding onto pretty much every
positive and negative feeling I’ve ever felt, which is sometimes good
and bad, but mostly good. “Collecting” feelings allows me to draw on
previous experiences and feelings when I am in a particular mood.

7. I see you have traveled quite a bit… any advice you would like to give to people traveling soon?

My
number one word of advice would be to take as many pictures as
possible. There really isn’t any excuse not to, particularly since we
hold very high quality cameras in the palm of our hand (thanks,
iPhone!). The memories and experiences gained while traveling are
unmatched to anything you could experience sitting at home, so I think
it’s important to capture these moments with photos that will last a
lifetime.

8. If you had $10,000, what would you spend it on?

Oh,
how I would love $10,000! I would put a good chunk into my savings
account (#poorcollegekid), donate some to a good cause, and use the rest
to purchase a timeless item that would last me a lifetime , like a nice
handbag, jacket, or pair of shoes.
