What you need:
- rubber gloves
- bleach
- water
- vinager
- denim vest/ jacket
- stick
- bucket
First put two parts water, one part bleach in a bucket. I highly recommend doing this project outside or in a bathtub!
As you see, I couldn’t find a ruler, so I used old nets to hang the vest from. I did this with a friend, and she bleached shorts, so that is why those are there! Leave your denim in the bleach solution for around 30 minutes.
After your denim is the desired color of white, take it out and put it in a bucket of 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar for 5-10 minutes to stop the bleaching process.
Top: TJMaxx. Pants: American Eagle Outfitters
Lastly, lay flat to dry. Once it is completely dry, wash it alone for the first wash so it doesn’t bleach the rest of the load!
Skirt: Wet Seal. Tanktop: American Eagle Outfitters.
I also thought I would add in a few pictures of me wearing it. As you can see, it goes well with polka dots and pink pants! But you can also dress it up by adding a skirt and a few cute accessories!
Necklace: Forever 21. Bracelet: Payless.
Fun facts about this project!
- I bought a jean jacket at Plato’s Closet for around $10 for this project and just cut off the sleeves!
- I also bought the pink pants that same day at Plato’s! They still had the original tag on them, but were only around $10!
- I actually did this project over spring break, but I wanted to wait to post it until I could show a way I styled it!
