Sit Down With Scarlett (8.24.17)

Today I wanted to sit down and write a more personal post about what’s been going on in my life recently. I always try to be as authentic as possible in my usual posts, but sometimes just a good life update is needed. So sit down with me, grab a cup of tea, and read about what’s been happening in my life!

1. The Solar Eclipse-

On Monday we went down to southern Illinois into the band of totality so we could see the total solar eclipse! It was so worth the extra drive to see a total eclipse, and it is probably one of the best natural phenomenons that I have seen. Here are a few pictures I snapped on my phone.

Not the best quality, but I am sure you experienced it yourself or have seen others! Basically it just got pretty dark, and it was like a 360 degree sunset all around us! But then the moon covering the sun itself was so cool to see, because you could see the corona of the sun around it! The picture above does not do it justice at all!

2. Finished nannying-
I also finished nannying last week for the twins! If you missed it, checkout what a typical day in my life as a nanny this summer was like in this post. Their family is so sweet so I was honestly sad to be done, but also sad because that means summer is almost over. Luckily I finished a few weeks before I have to go back, which gives me a little time to relax, pack, and pre-write blog posts!

3. Moving into my first apartment-
In 9 days I will be moving into my first apartment with two of my good friends! I am very excited to be done with dorm life after living there the first two years of college. That also means that I have been frantically trying to buy everything I need for my kitchen and living room in the apartment, and trying to keep it all organized and begin packing! My good friends had to go back to school about 2 weeks ago now, so luckily I have had lots of time to get ready.

4. I’m a junior now-
It is honestly really weird to think that I will never be an underclassman again! This is my last year of “core classes” or classes that don’t pertain to my major, so I am really excited to be done with those! This semester though I only have one real class and one PE, and the rest of my classes are speech path classes! (If you want to learn more about choosing speech path as your major, click here!) I am super excited about that, and I am hoping I can balance 4 speech path classes since I have only ever taken 2 at the same time before! My PE this semester is bowling, so I am also hoping that will be a fun one.

5. Writing my new 101 in 1001 list-
This summer I have spent a decent amount of time trying to come up with 101 new things to add to my next list. My first list ends at the end of September, so I want to have all 101 things listed for my second list before I go back to school. I am up to about 95 things, so I know I can come up with a few more soon. But if you have any suggestions on what to add, or if you have made a list yourself, please let me know in the comments!

Have you started school yet? Let me know in the comments below!
