If you read my recent blog favorites post, you would know that I have been loving Caitlin’s blog recently! So when she agreed to be interviewed for a Trendy Talks, I was thrilled! Keep reading to learn what camera she uses to get that stunning photography, a favorite quote of hers, and so much more!
1. How did you get into blogging?
I started reading blogs like Carly’s (The College Prepster) and Sarah’s (Classy Girls Wear Pearls), and I became very interested in the idea of a lifestyle or fashion blog. I had tried doing YouTube “vlogs” before, but I couldn’t keep up with it. When I stumbled upon this niche of blogging, I thought “Hey! I can do that!” And so, Your Typical Prep was born.
2. How did you come up with the name Your Typical Prep?
To be honest, I stumbled through a few names before settling on Your Typical Prep. I believe my first blog name was something along the lines of “Confession of a Filmmaking Shopaholic.” Can’t believe I’m actually sharing that… Anyway, I realized that I wanted to focus more on style, so I eventually came to Your Typical Prep.
3. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Other than being able to share my thoughts with some wonderful readers, I absolutely love the blogging community. I’ve made some great friends through blogging, and I love that everyone supports each other in their blogging journeys. There have been times when I struggled to keep up with my blog, but my friends have helped me push through.
4. What camera do you use for blogging?
I use a Nikon d610 with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens!
5. What is your favorite piece of clothing you own?
Oh, this is tough. I would have to say my blue Ralph Lauren button-down oxford, simply because of how versatile it is. Either that, or my cobalt-colored Lilly dress that I wore in this post.
6. If you had a $5,000 shopping spree to any store, where would you choose?
This is a tough one as well! I would probably choose Nordstrom because they carry so many wonderful brands.
7. What is your go-to nail polish color?
A light pink! I feel like it matches everything.
8. What is one place you wish you could travel to?
Either the countryside of France, or Germany.
9. What is one thing you want to do before you die?
See as much of the world as possible. One of my favorite quotes is: “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”
