How To Have A Productive Summer

Today I wanted to share a few tips for having a productive summer. Summer can be a great time to relax and regroup, but it is also good to still get things done and have a purpose.

-KEEP YOUR ALARM SET-

Just because you don’t have to wake up at 7 for school doesn’t mean you should sleep the day away. I try to get up at 8 or 8:30 most mornings even if I have nowhere to be. Mornings are so peaceful and that extra time can be used to read a book, clean your house, workout, or reply to emails!

-MULTITASK WHILE WATCHING TV-

It is okay to binge on Netflix occasionally or catch up on your favorite shows. But try to do something else while you are watching TV or Youtube. I try to clean, engage on social media, or even just do a a wall sit or some sit ups while I watch. It is amazing how much you can actually get done during 1 episode!

-MAKE TO-DO LISTS-

You know I am all for to-do lists. I find that even if I only have 5 things to get done, making a to-do list helps keep me on track. I can finish those 5 things in just an hour or two usually if I actually stick to my list. Then I have the rest of the day to hangout with friends or work ahead on other projects.

-CREATE A SUMMER BUCKET LIST-

Being productive doesn’t have to relate to work or typical “boring” things. It can also be finally going on that trip that you have wanted to go on or visiting that ice cream shop that you have heard everyone rave about. Keep your summer fun and interesting by making a list of potential things you can do when you are bored. Checkout my bucket list for summer 2015 here!

-CREATE A SUMMER PROJECT LIST-

I take advantage of my free time during the summer to work on some bigger projects such as cleaning and organizing my room. Any time that I have a little free time to get something done, I will go to my summer projects jar and pick something out.

-GET A JOB-

Whether it is blogging, babysitting, or an actual job, try to find something that will give you a little extra money. It will come in handy if you are going into college (like me) or if you are just saving up for something big!
