Current Favorite Apps

Today I wanted to share a quick round-up of my favorite apps recently. I love learning about new and useful apps from reading what other people have. That is how I found some of the ones I will be sharing today!

Duolingo-
I shared all about this app here in a different post, but I wanted to mention it again because I completed all of the Spanish lessons a few weeks ago! I was really surprised that I was able to complete them so quickly. I don’t think you could completely learn a new language from this app, but it is great to brush up on your skills from a language you already know a lot of (for me that was Spanish) or it would be good for learning the basics of a new language! I am planning on beginning a different language soon, but I am not sure yet which one I want to learn next!

Printic-
I recently just found this app, but I already love it! You can turn your pictures into polaroids on it, and you can actually have them printed and shipped to your house. I have yet to actually order any, but it seems like such a cool idea and I might take advantage of it before I go off to college so I can decorate my dorm with some cute pictures. You can also print a poster with pictures, make magnets, or make photo books too! I am definitely going to be exploring this options since I realized I rarely actually print out photos or do anything with them. They just sit in the digital world and never actually get displayed!

Shopkick-
My friend introduced me to this app and I knew I had to share it with you guys. You can get gift cards without actually doing much! I was so sure it was a scam at first so I waited until my friend actually got her first gift card before I got it. Basically you just go into stores and “check in” when you are there. Then you get points for just walking in, and sometimes you can get points for scanning certain items or making purchases! I have not earned enough points yet to get a gift card, but I am hoping to soon! If you are dedicated and go to stores a lot, you will have no problem earning gift cards pretty quickly.

RetailMeNot-
This also was an app that I was skeptical about in the beginning, but it has made using coupons SO easy! Many times I would forget to search and print coupons off before I left the house, but now I can easily find them while I am waiting in line and use them just seconds later.

Starbucks-
I know, I know. I am late to the game but I just got the Starbucks app and it has definitely simplified my life. I always seem to have 3 different Starbucks gift cards floating around in my wallet and purses and I never knew how much money was left on them. I finally got the app and registered them all and combined them onto one card. I found that I actually had over $12 left combined on the cards I had! Plus this way I will earn rewards as well so it is a win-win.

MapMyRide-
I have been riding my bike a ton this summer, and this app is perfect to track how far I’ve gone. It also tells you how fast you are going and how many calories you have burned. You can also change it depending on what exercise you are doing (such as running or walking) so it isn’t just for biking!

What apps have you been using recently? Share in the comments because I love finding new useful ones that are different from the standard social media.
