As many of you know, I traveled to Washington DC 2 weeks ago. This recap should’ve been up earlier… but let’s be real the end of this school year has been busy and of course I had school stuff to catch up on after I got back. Then I got sick towards the end of last week so I am just now catching up blogging wise. But hey, better late than never 😉
A pretty building from our tour of the Capitol.
Loved the view of the clouds on the way there!
I highly recommend going to the butterfly house at the Smithsonian! On Tuesdays it is free, so it was a great day to go! And if you wear coral they might just land on you… they loved my scarf.
The White House… from really far away. If you squint you might be able to see it lol.
Pictures from Arlington Cemetery.
Thomas Jefferson Memorial
There were tulips everywhere there!
One night we took a night tour of the monuments which was a little chilly but interesting!
Then on the last day we went to the zoo and got to see the pandas!
If you are planning on going, I would recommend going in the spring so you can see the cherry blossoms. Luckily we were able to see some the first day or two we were there because by the end of the week they had all blown off the trees and it wasn’t nearly as pretty!
Also, my favorite restaurant we went to was Old Ebbitt Grill. I recommend going there if you are ever near it because I thought the decor was unique and the food was really good! It was so good that we went there one day for lunch and then the next day for breakfast. The waffles I shared on Instagram were from there! Here are a few pictures I found online to show you what it looked like…
