Until a few days ago, I just hadn’t felt in the Christmas spirit. Sure, I had been listening to Christmas music since mid-November, but it still just didn’t feel like Christmas to me. It probably has to do with the fact that I am currently in the midst of finals, but I still want it to feel like Christmas! I decided to compile a few of my favorite tips and tricks to bring the Christmas spirit to your house.
1. Change out your scents!
Do you have sugar cookie shower gel that you could switch with your summery scented one? How about twisted peppermint body spray? Now is the perfect time to use your holiday scented lotions and sprays!
2. Change your wallpapers
My old background on my phone was still a flower from summer… yes, that needed to go! I now have the picture from above as my wallpaper and it makes me happy every time I get on my phone!
3. Light a Christmas candle
Peppermint, christmas cookie, vanilla, oh my! There are so many amazing candles that are perfect to light around Christmas time. I love to have a candle burning while I am in my room studying or blogging!
4. Make a Christmas playlist
Nothing gets me in the mood for Christmas like blasting Christmas music! But I will be the first to say that there are certain Christmas songs I am just not a fan of. But I do have quite a few I really like, so I like to make a playlist of all my favorites.
5. Bake a delicious Christmas dessert
For some families, I know a specific recipe will remind you of Christmas. If you don’t have one, try making cut out Christmas cookies and invite a few friends over to help! If you need a good recipe, try Caitlin’s!
6. Watch your favorite Christmas movie
Take a break and sit down with your favorite hot drink to watch your favorite Christmas movie. Two of my personal favorites are Elf and It’s a Wonderful Life!
7. Look at Christmas lights
Hop in the car with a few friends and drive around and try to find the best Christmas lights display in your town. Don’t forget to play your Christmas playlist while you’re driving around!
