A Day In My Life: M/W Summer 2018

As I have mentioned in previous posts, this summer I am nannying again for the last time. My Mondays and Wednesdays are pretty similar, so I am combining them into the same post!

On Mondays and Wednesdays, I am nannying again for the family with twin boys. This summer they are 4, which is such a fun age! They are old enough now that they are more interested in crafts and coloring, which has been great.

7:10- Wake up and eat breakfast

7:25- Get dressed and ready for the day

7:40- Go to work

8:00- Arrive and start playing with the boys

8:30- Attempt to get the boys outside before it gets too hot. They usually want to stay inside until they get outside, then it is a challenge to get them back in! Sometimes we get little visitors, like this baby frog that was the size of my fingernail!

10:30- Go inside and play trains or legos.

11:30- Do an activity, such as coloring or a craft! Recently we did a “sheep day” with a sheep coloring sheep and a sheep craft! They loved gluing on the cotton balls.

12:15- Watch an episode of a show or do puzzles.

1:00- Eat lunch

1:45- Read to the boys and get them down for naps. While they nap I clean up the house and then read a book or listen to a podcast!

4:30- I get the boys up by 4:30 at the latest, but sometimes one will wakeup at 3:30 or 4 instead. If that happens I usually just read a book to whichever woke up, or we play quietly or do a puzzle until 4:30 when the other wakes up. Then we go outside and usually ride bikes or scooters out there. Recently I taught them monkey in the middle one day, and they like playing that until one ends up in the middle for a few too many rounds 😉 Here is a picture their adorable corgi, Ty.

5:30-5:40- The parents arrive home and I head home for the day

6:00- Eat dinner

6:45- Do blog work, go on a walk or bike, or hangout with friends. On this particular day that I was documenting, I ended up going out with my friend to try a gelato place we had never tried before! They even had flavored cones for no extra cost, such as red velvet cones or toasted coconut cones!

7:30- We then went to snap a few pictures during golden hour. You can see the full photoshoot in this post!

8:30- Head home and work on blog work or read for a bit.

9:30- Shower and begin getting ready for bed

10:30- Get in bed and read until I am tired

What does a typical day in your life look like? Do you enjoy trying out new places like gelato in the summer? Let me know in the comments!

xo, Scarlett
