{Trendy Talks} Mandy from The Quirky Conservative

Today I am so excited to be back with another Trendy Talks! This interview is with Mandy, who is another college blogger. I recently found her blog and I love to read her posts! Keep reading to learn more about this quirky, Lilly Pulitzer loving blogger!

1. Why did you begin blogging?

I was extremely bullied growing up. I
was even bullied out of my old high school freshman year. Going through
something as traumatic as bullying demolished my confidence. When I realized I
allowed the haters to take away the personality traits that I once cherished, I
knew I needed to change. From that day forward I have stopped apologizing for
being myself and I have started celebrating all of my quirks. My blog has
played a big part in uniting me with my inner confidence.

2. What is the best thing about
blogging?

The whole mission behind my blog is
to inspire others to be confident in what makes them truly unique. We live in a
society that views our individualities as flaws, but I firmly believe what
makes us different, or quirky as I would say, is also what makes us
special.  I have always loved writing.  It took me a while, but once
I finally found the confidence to share my words with others, I knew I was
ready to create a blog. The best thing about blogging is knowing my thoughts
and experiences have the power to positively influence someone’s life and
hopefully become someone’s light in a dark time.

3. What is your least favorite part
of blogging?

Writing a blog post takes anywhere
from a few minutes to a few hours and sometimes even a few days. I would have
to say my least favorite part about blogging is having a set posting schedule.
I have an extremely busy lifestyle, and blogging, especially on a schedule is
extremely demanding.I have pretty bad
OCD and feel awful when I absolutely cannot post on my scheduled day. Sometimes
I am just too busy to spend an
appropriate amount of time writing a post.

4. What is your favorite store to
shop at?

Oh I don’t know… I kinda sorta like
this one store where everything is pink and green and patterned. I am not sure
what its called, Lilly Pulitzer, maybe?

5. What is your favorite piece in
your closet?

My go-to outfit is always a dress and
often times I find myself reaching for a navy and white stripped fit-and-flare.

6. Do you have a favorite nail polish
color?

Gold. Definitely gold. Although,
recently I have been obsessed with a bright, Robin’s egg blue.

7. What is one thing you are looking
forward to college-wise?

Living my dream. I have always wanted
to attend High Point University and actually being on campus, attending
classes, and participating in the Media Fellows Program is incredibly exciting.

8. What is one thing that is on your
bucket list?

I have always wanted to speak at Teen
Vogue Fashion University

9. If you could have a superpower for
a day, what would it be?

I would love to time travel. I have
always been fascinated with the 1950’s and would love to experience that decade
first hand.
