This week I am so excited to be interviewing Dorothy from Prep In Your Step. Her blog is one of my daily reads, and I am always enjoying reading about her week or gaining a few tips from her posts. Plus, her pictures and graphics are always so eye-catching!
1. Why did you begin blogging?
I
began blogging before exams junior year of high school as a creative
outlet. At that point I had been reading quite a few blogs and thought
it would be the perfect way to express myself while still being
productive. I felt like all I was doing was going to school, playing
soccer, and doing homework and blogging was the perfect study break! Now
it has become something that I can’t imagine not doing!
2. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I
adore writing posts and creating graphics but the community blogging
has created for me has been really cool. Whether it is becoming friends
with pr agents for companies I’ve worked with or connecting with girls
who read my blog it really is such a blast! I have met a few readers and
those experiences are kind of surreal. I also can’t complain that
“homework” for blogging is often online shopping and pinterest!
3. How do you balance blogging and college?
I
am still trying to figure this one out. It takes a lot of time
management and a few too many late nights. I actually just wrote a post
about how I manage it all, or at least attempt to! http://www.prepinyourstep.
For me, it is a lot about time management and prioritizing and while I
wish I could be a pro at both college and blogging I am not sure that
will ever be the case!
4. What college do you attend and why did you choose it?
I
go to Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. I knew I wanted a
smaller school that had greek life and felt like a community of people I
wanted to surround myself with and I was sold after my tour! Now that I
am a student here I appreciate all Furman has to offer more than I
could have ever imagined. One of my favorite things besides the campus,
and the people, is that I can live on campus all four years. Not many
colleges offer that as an option to their students and I am so glad that
Furman has that ability. I also can’t complain that Furman has an
amazing Education department (my major)!
5. What is your favorite thing about fall?
Oh
my goodness, this is impossible. For starters, I am the most indecisive
person ever so I definitely can’t narrow it down to one specific thing
since fall is my favorite season. I love the clothes, fall activities,
weather perfect for (fall) flavored coffee, football, and that it is the
start of the holiday season just to name a few!
6. What is your favorite fall trend?
I
would definitely have to say oversized sweaters. I am not so sure if
they are a trend but I love that I can throw one on with a pair of
leggings or jeans and my boots and be set for class. I adore pairing
mine with fun scarves, especially patterned blanket scarves!
7. What is your all time favorite song?
Here
comes the indecision again…I don’t have an all time favorite song since
I feel like what I am listening to is really dependent on my mood but I
am a fan of lots of different genres of music. My most played pandora
station is definitely Ben Rector Radio and I have been loving Shake it
Off by Taylor Swift lately and can’t wait for the rest of her album to
be released!
8. What is one place you have always wanted to visit?
Paris.
I have actually never been out of the country and am dying to visit
Paris. I think being immersed in the culture as well as all of the
amazing museums and monuments would be such a cool experience.
9. What is #1 on your life bucket list? Do you have any plans to accomplish it soon?
I
don’t have a bucket list but if I did it would probably be to travel.
While I don’t have any plans to necessarily do that on my calendar at
the moment I am hoping to travel more in the next few years!
