This week I
am interviewing Michelle from With Love From Guyana. When Michelle first
contacted me, I had never actually read her blog before even though I
had seen her on social media. I wish I had found her blog sooner because
it is really inspirational to me and I have loved reading it since I
first found it.
1. What is the main reason you started
blogging?
I started blogging when I started
architecture graduate school as a way for my family who live on a different
continent to follow my journey through school. Since then my blog has evolved
into a place I share my inspirational finds in addition to my journey.
2. What is your favorite and least
favorite thing about blogging?
Since I write mostly about my
inspiration finds I always love finding something new to write about. My least
favorite thing is feeling like I am only writing for myself. I don’t get much
traffic which has a lot to do with me not wanting my blog to be very publicly
known at the moment but I’d love for more people to just happen upon me. I blog
for myself but I do want other people to enjoy it too.
3. How many hours do you spend each week
blogging?
It depends on the week. It varies
greatly. Some weeks I am travelling or I have finals so I spend no time on my
blog. On other weeks I spend in excess of six hours scheduling posts or sharing
them.
4. How would you describe your style?
I tend to just be comfy. I don’t stay up
to date with fashion trends. I wear what I like, what looks good, and what goes
with the weather.
5. What is one fall fashion trend you
love?
Layering, it is such a nice change from
trying to wear the least amount of clothes yet still being appropriately
dressed for the summer heat.
6. What other blog inspires you the
most?
I am most inspired by people who have
grown through their blog and share stories of winding up finding their dream
job due to blogging such as http://ktrstyle.com/.
7. Is there anything you want to
accomplish before the end of 2014?
I just started a new semester and I’m
taking two electives I am very interested in so I’m looking forward to
accomplishing great projects for both electives. Yes, I know, kind of nerdy.
8. If you could travel to any place in
the world right now, where would you go?
Only one? I have never been to Europe so
I would love to go to France and Italy. I’d also love to visit Australia and
all of the many other islands of the Caribbean I have yet to see. Thankfully, I
will be scratching San Francisco off my list of places to go later on in
September.
