Interview with Aline

Hey guys! Today I have an interview with Aline from My Collective Style. I am loving her blog, so I wanted to learn a little bit more about her and share it with you!

S: How long have you been blogging?

A: I started blogging late January 2013. I’m still relatively new to blogging, but it’s been an amazing seven months so far!

S: What inspired you to start your blog?

A: I’ve always enjoyed fashion from a very young age. My mother used to
dress me in lovely frocks with polka dots and bows. Over the years my
style has developed and I enjoy putting outfits together for myself and
sometimes my friends. I love to stalk the Internet (who doesn’t
right?) through Tumblr and Blogger. I have found several fashion blogs
that I have fallen in love with and I think it’s amazing that there are
many people who share their style online. So after a little while I
decided that if others can share their style then so can I, and that’s
how My Collective Style was born.

S: What has been your favorite thing about blogging?

A: So far my favorite thing about blogging is exploring my own style. I
have learned a lot through styling, editing, uploading. I think the
entire blog post aspect is amazing because seven months ago, honestly, I
had no idea how to do any of it. It’s been an amazing learning
experience for myself.

S: What makes your blog stand out from the rest?

A: I think what makes my blog stand out from the rest is my own
personal style. I think I bring my own quality to it and no one else can
take that.

S: How would you describe your style?

A: My style is a little bit of everything. It’s girly and it’s
edgy. I like to mix it up. I wear vintage and pair it with something
modern. I think my style is cute, classy, and sophisticated.

S: Where do you get ideas for outfits?

A: I usually put it together in my head. I find a shirt or dress
and I get an idea of what I could pair it with. I’m usually inspired by
the clothing items. I also sometimes draw inspiration from magazines and
certain trends that are going on.

S: Are there any trends this season that you love or any you hate?

A: This season I’m very into high waisted shorts, jeans, and skirts! I
find them extremely comfortable and flattering. I also am really loving
cropped tops. And I really love pairing the two together. I also love
bold stripes also. I used to always wear striped shirts in high school,
so I love seeing them on trend this season.

S:  What is your favorite outfit that you have posted so far?

A: This is a hard one because I do love all my outfits. If I had to choose one though it would be my “Feelin’ Serene in Green
post. I am wearing this beautiful emerald green dress with a bow
pattern all over it. I love the dress because of the unique cut out in
the front. Also in that post I got to use my grandmothers purse from the

S: What is your favorite store?

A: This one’s a hard one. I have too many favorites! One of my
favorites is Forever21. I can almost always find something or ten things
when I go shopping there. And if you really look some of the items can
be pretty good quality.

S: Do you have any favorite boutiques that you would recommend to anyone traveling to Boston?

A: Yes! There are plenty of lovely shops in Boston. If you’re ever
in town definitely go to Harvard Square they have some amazing shops
like the store Oona’s. Newbury Street is a must also there’s a boutique I
really like called LIT Boutique. Also I adore Artifaktori Vintage and
the Garment District. Also, if you’re ever in Boston definitely check
out the SoWa Vintage Market. It’s incredible! And the Vintage Market is
open all year round!

I want to thank Aline for taking the time to be interviewed! And now I really want to go to Boston to take a look at the places she mentioned! If you are interested in being interviewed on The Trendy Chick just send me an email introducing yourself and why I should interview you, and you might just be my next interview candidate!
